The Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (CRCICA) is an independent, non-profit international organisation established in 1979 under the auspices of the Asian-African Legal Consultative Organization (AALCO). As a leading arbitral institution in Africa and the Middle East, CRCICA provides neutral and cost-effective dispute resolution services for international, regional, and domestic commercial disputes, including arbitration, mediation, and other ADR mechanisms. The Centre also promotes arbitration across the Afro-Asian region through training, conferences, and capacity-building initiatives.

REAL is a group of global lawyers practicing in international arbitration and striving to achieve racial equality for arbitration lawyers. Our two foundational goals are access and advocacy. Access to this “arbitration club,” where we each represent different racial platforms across different jurisdictions, to open the door to more practitioners. One avenue is to address the socio-economic limitation for many entering our field with a focus on community building for young and mid-level practitioners. To this end and unless deemed necessary, we will not charge a membership fee to join REAL. We also offer many scholarships to participate in arbitration events all around the world. Advocacy to build awareness and spotlight the absence of racial diversity in our field. A second avenue is to address the lack of racial parity in arbitral appointments with a focus on community building with stakeholders — arbitral institutions, law firms, clients, third party funders, expert shops, and onwards. Where we conceive of a relevant nexus, we build cooperation, and create change therewith.
