Brandon Malone

Quadrant Chambers, Ampersand Advocates, and Arbitra International

Conference Director

Brandon Malone is a distinguished advocate and barrister with 30 years of experience in dispute resolution. He practises with Ampersand Advocates in Scotland and is a member of the Inner Temple, authorised to appear before all courts in England and Wales, as well as the DIFC Courts in Dubai. His expertise lies in complex commercial, energy, and construction disputes, and he is recognised internationally for his arbitration work.

He was formerly accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in both Construction Law and Arbitration Law, and in 2016 became Scotland's first Approved Solicitor Arbitrator. Brandon is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and an eminent Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. He also lectures at the Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy at the University of Dundee, and has served as an External Examiner at Robert Gordon University.

Brandon was a key figure in founding the Scottish Arbitration Centre, where he served as Chairman from 2011 to 2022. He remains on the Centre's Board and is Co-Director of the International Centre for Energy Arbitration. He is regularly appointed to serve as arbitrator in institutional and ad hoc proceedings, and sits on the panels of major centres including ICDR, SIAC, CIETAC, AIAC, SCCA, ADGM, and BCDR.

Beyond his arbitration practice, he is a Door Tenant at Quadrant Chambers in London, an arbitrator with Arbitra International, and Senior Legal Consultant with HFI Consulting International, advising clients in the energy and infrastructure sectors. He is a member of the ICC UK Committee on Arbitration and ADR, and also chairs the ICCA–New York City Bar–CPR Working Group on Cybersecurity. In 2022, he chaired the landmark ICCA Congress in Edinburgh.

Dr. Ismail Selim

Dr. Ismail Selim brings unrivalled experience in international arbitration, combining a distinguished judicial career with leadership roles at the forefront of global dispute resolution. As Director of the Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (CRCICA) and President of the International Federation of Commercial Arbitration Institutions (IFCAI), he
plays a pivotal role in shaping arbitration practice across Africa, the Middle East, and beyond.

He has acted as presiding, sole, and co-arbitrator under leading institutional rules including CRCICA, ICC, DIAC, DIFC-LCIA, ADCCAC, BCDR, UNCITRAL, CAS, and Swiss Rules, covering disputes in energy, infrastructure, finance, construction, and international trade. His career spans roles as a Public Prosecutor, civil Judge, partner at leading law firms, and lecturer in arbitration law at Sorbonne Cairo and Paris 1 University.

Fluent in Arabic, French, and English, Dr. Selim is also Vice-President of the African Arbitration Association (AfAA) and Chairman of the Egypt Branch of CIArb. Recognised by Legal 500 as a leading individual, he continues to shape the global arbitration landscape through thought leadership, teaching, and high-profile arbitral appointments.

Dr. Diora Ziyaeva

Dr. Diora Ziyaeva is a Partner at Dentons in the Commercial Litigation group and Co-Lead for Mining and Natural Resources in the US region. She is a Member of the ICC International Court of Arbitration and sits on arbitral panels across leading global institutions, reflecting her position as one of the foremost arbitration practitioners of her generation.

She has acted as counsel and arbitrator in high-profile disputes under the rules of major institutions including ICC, ICSID, UNCITRAL, CIETAC, SCIA, TIAC, and ADIAC, covering sectors such as mining, energy, construction, finance, and international trade. Licensed in New York and Uzbekistan and fluent in seven languages, Diora also advises governments, investment firms, and asset managers on risk mitigation, enforcement of awards, and cross-border investment strategies.

Alongside her practice, Diora is deeply committed to pro bono work, spearheading human rights and ESG initiatives from refugee representation in the US to transitional justice projects in Libya, Iraq, Myanmar, and Central Asia. She also teaches international arbitration at Cornell and Fordham Law Schools, and contributes to leading arbitral and policy bodies including the Council on Foreign Relations and the International Arbitration Club of New York.

Her achievements have been recognised with multiple accolades, including Lexology Global Elite Thought Leader (2024), New York Law Journal Rising Star (2024), Law360 Rising Star (2023), and ABA Top 40 Young Lawyers (2018).

Isaiah Bozimo SAN

Isaiah Bozimo SAN is a Partner at Broderick Bozimo & Company and Vice President of the ICC Court of International Arbitration. He brings extensive experience in commercial arbitration and dispute resolution, combining high-level practice with a proven track record in legal reform. From 2021 to 2023, he served as Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice of Delta State, where he led significant initiatives including the Delta State Arbitration Law of 2022 and contributed to Nigeria’s new Arbitration and Mediation Act.

Isaiah has represented governments, corporations, and individuals in complex disputes across sectors such as energy, trade, and finance. His work includes defending the Delta State Government in a ₦1 billion claim, leading a team on over ₦2 billion in trade-related disputes, and co-counseling in a $300 million gas supply arbitration. He has also played a pivotal role in landmark Nigerian litigation, establishing the doctrine of lender liability and clarifying the rights of judgment debtors in garnishee proceedings.

A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, Isaiah serves on the panels of SIAC, AFSA, and KIAC, and has been recognised by Who’s Who Legal and the African Arbitration Academy for his contributions to the field. His thought leadership includes widely cited publications such as the CIArb Guidance Note on Remote Dispute Resolution Proceedings, reflecting his commitment to shaping the future of arbitration both in Africa and globally.
